Bargello, is a type of needlepoint that uses long vertical stitches arranged in geometric patterns. It often focusses on the effects that can be achieved using repetition and optical illusion. In this design, we explore the basics of the stitches, some colourwork, and create a fun and useful finished project. Bargello stitching is quite simple and addictive, so if you enjoy it, you will need a pincushion to work with your needles, so this is a great place to start.
