I have been having a fantastic time exploring the limits and advantages of paper embroidery. There are definitely some engineering challenges involved in order to achieve the effect you want. After all card can only take so much punishment.
All of these are hand-stitched into card. Sometimes I add embellishment to the card, sometimes I use card that has its own character.
