Coloured zentangle

Green zentangle

Gel pen on bubblejet print of an acrylic painting, approx. 130 x 130 mm.

It may not look like a traditional zentangle, but I did do it randomly and quite meditatively, something that is very unusual for me. I find it very hard to just let go and just draw.

I’ve been fascinated by this background from my acrylic experiments last week. it has been yelling at me to create something from it. But I don’t know what. So last night I printed off a couple of copies of the square, and since they are reproduceable copies, I felt free to make as many mistakes as I had to. That is always very freeing. I still didn’t know what to make of it, so I just put my gel pen to the paper and drew. I don’t know what I’ve come up with, but I like it.

I’m planning to do more.

Nutty
(I enjoyed that)

  1. Oh, very koi pond -esque! 🙂

  2. Wow!! I love it! It is so vibrant and alive!! Makes me think of shooting stars and comets and fireworks done by Van Gogh 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I also love to doodle and for a change I am working on very wild watercolour and then adding doodles. Fun too.
