A return to Paint Party Friday

Basically yellow, orange, red and purple reside beside each other on the colour wheel in that order and are harmonious. However, if you flip the order of the colours and lay them next to each other we encounter the fact that yellow and purple are direct contrasts and spark off each other.

  • Stone Wisteria completed – A Piece a Week 5

This challenge is really working for me. Here I am five weeks into the year with five new art works to my name. The first one was just a journal page, but the rest have been full blown works. I’m totally excited.

  • A moment in the studio – Artful Creations Days 17, 18, 19 & 20

On my art table there you can see a weird WIP that I started the night before. Acrylic, iridescent gel and tiny quartz rocks. I have no idea where it is going, but it does have some interesting textures.

I’m so happy! Third Piece a Week completed!

  • Paper and Jewels mosaic completed!

It is final. It is complete (well, except for its second coat of varnish which I will do today). My first paper and jewels mosaic is done!

  • Hot wind completed

Mother’s Day 2011 – my present was to be allowed to paint all day. It was a beautifully sunny day, so I set up my easel outside and did just that. The uncompleted painting that resulted has been sitting around my studio ever since. A few weeks back I decided it was time to finish…

  • Mixed media mosaic work in progress

This week, with some determination to actually post for Paint Party Friday, I have two works in progress.
